Skoda Enyaq vs. Hyundai Ioniq 5: Spacious electric cars in comparison

Striking lines and shapes that suggest great variability in the interior: The Skoda Enyaq, which debuted as the brand's first electric car based on an MEB, has received a complete makeover. And the Hyundai Ioniq 5 has also received a facelift. So it's time to compare the two spacious EVs, right?

Design

The new Enyaq now has the new Modern Solid front with superimposed headlights (LED as standard, matrix optional), while the grille has been shrunk. Apart from the new design, there are also aerodynamic improvements with a cd value of 0.245 and 0.225 on the coupe.

The two competitors in this comparison are also almost identical in terms of dimensions. The only big difference remains the wheelbase, where the Ioniq 5 outperforms its competitor by more than 20 centimeters.

While retaining the sporty and distinctly striking shapes, the Korean can also be recognized in the latest update by the redesigned radiator grille and bumpers, but above all by the spoiler that is five centimeters longer.

Interior

With its long wheelbase and extremely regular body shapes, the Ioniq 5 offers the five occupants a generous amount of space. For 2024, in addition to the latest generation infotainment system (Connected Car Navigation Cockpit) with OTA updates, the Korean has received small but important improvements with a focus on usability. There are now physical buttons under the central screen and also in front of the armrest: There is a wireless charging station for smartphones on the center tunnel.
